Paradise Ingredients as a Global Suplier

PARADISE INGREDIENTS AS A GLOBAL SUPPLIER

Daniela Chaves

Paradise Ingredients is a Costa Rican company that has been processing banana puree from fresh bananas since 1979. Today it produces superior quality sterile banana puree, frozen banana puree, unpasteurized banana puree and banana essence from Costa Rica for the world.

As a raw material marketer for the food and beverage industry, it faces many challenges. However, its extensive experience of more than 40 years in the industry and the high quality of its products (preferred by its customers for their color, texture, taste and smell) have been decisive in positioning it as the world's largest supplier of banana puree.

Entering some countries is complicated nowadays, because of either a tariff issue or the difficulty of negotiating with the parties involved. However, Costa Rica has numerous treaties and agreements that allow companies like Paradise Ingredients to enter these markets more easily. Some of these are:

TLC-Costa-Rica
  1. Colombia FTA
  2. Central America FTA
  3. Canada FTA
  4. CARICOM FTA
  5. Chile FTA
  6. China FTA
  7. Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR)
  8. FTA between Central America and South Korea
  9. Mexico FTA
  10. Panama FTA
  11. Dominican Republic FTA
  12. Peru FTA
  13. Singapore FTA
  14. European Union Central American Association Agreement (EU-CAAA)
  15. European Free Trade Association (EFTA)

Additionally, Costa Rica has several bilateral investment agreements with countries such as Germany, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Taiwan, Korea, Spain, France, Netherlands, Paraguay, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Venezuela and Qatar. There are also various treaties in the pipeline, such as the Pacific Alliance, Environmental Goods Agreement (EGA), and Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA).

Thanks to the efforts of the government and numerous exporters, Costa Rica is strongly positioned in many markets worldwide, mainly with food sector products such as fruit juices and concentrates, meats, coffee, jellies, jams and canned fruits, and sugar, among other items.
